This week I want to talk more about some of the characters in Claw and Fang.
Rhugan is a human with a demon soul mate, Noc. Immortal life forms, demons live forever. If a demon did manage to be “killed” it is only banishment from the Earth for a set period of time to a sort of demon hell. In this case I use the Moon as my prison and the cycles of the Moon are my clock measuring the time of the punishment.

Noc and Rhugan have a unique relationship in the fact that as demons are immortal so are human souls. The two of them have had a relationship since the dawn of creation. When Rhugan’s living form dies his soul continues to thrive and is reborn in a new life form, be it another human, plant, animal, insect, etc. You get the point. Noc gets to enjoy Rhugan in whatever form or sex he is reborn as. They have a bond greater than anything and it has endured the test of time. Rhugan dies; Noc seeks out his soul’s new form. Wash, rinse, and repeat. It keeps the relationship fresh throughout eternity.

In the same principle, Justin is a hero through the centuries destined by the character of his soul. However technology has thrown him a speed bump and he is doing all his heroics in the virtual world.

The villain Noro, fresh out of demon hell after being banished for a few thousand years he has discovered a way to prevent being banished ever again and how to destroy a human soul and kill a demon. Two things that are strictly forbidden by all the laws of nature, but ignored due to Noro’s quest to control the Realms of Darkness and Light, leaving Earth right in the middle.

Next week I’ll go into some more detail about the bad guy.

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving.
