CELEBRITIES GET GRAPHIC (AS IN NOVELS)!
Bluewater Productions unveiled its schedule for the release of special edition graphic novels from its popular "Fame" biography comic book series that will be primarily distributed to book stores and Walmart. Starting in March, graphic novels featuring Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and the Cast of Glee will be repackaged with additional artwork, story content and new covers to expand each edition to nearly 40 pages. Retail giant Walmart has already committed to sell the Bieber title in stores. "Each of these titles sold out during their initial release, but now we are nearly doubling the size of the book and giving fans and collectors more of what they want," said publisher Darren Davis. The following are detailed descriptions of the upcoming titles:
The "Fame" series, which launched earlier this year as an offshoot to Bluewater's successful "Female Force" and "Political Power" biography comics continues to grow in popularity with each successive issue, and there is often a flurry of excitement as the next featured subject is announced. According to Davis the "Fame" title allows Bluewater to delve into the celebrity culture and understand how a person rises to fame and deals with the new-found celebrity and continue to produce in the public eye. That includes actors, sports figures, recording artists and royals; notable personalities that would be precluded from Bluewater's other politically-oriented biography titles. Each issue retails for $7.99. Although primarily distributed through traditional retail outlets, these special editions will also be available through several online venues including Amazon.com and the Barnes and Noble and Borders online stores. |
