Every weekday morning Meredith Vieira wakes us up with a dose of the day's news, and a smattering of lifestyle features. Now journalist, and veteran television personality Meredith Vieira's life story will be the featured subject of an upcoming issue of Bluewater Productions' Female Force biography comic series.

Female Force focuses on women who have made a distinctive impact on society. It's really a book about empowerment. Political Power tries to go beyond the sound bites and give readers a better understanding of the decision makers who shape our world.

Female Force: Meredith Vieira, the latest of the Bluewater's Women in Media collection, follows the respected journalist from her first gig as a news radio announcer in Worcester, MA to her stints on 60 Minutes and The View to her current job as co-anchor on the top-rated morning news program Today. It also covers her Emmy-winning turn as the daytime host of the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

"What we thought made Vieira special is not only her thirty-five years in front of the camera bringing us the news of the day, but her unyielding commitment to family," said Bluewater president Darren Davis.

Vieira passed up a full-time position on the prestigious news program 60 Minutes when it conflicted with the birth of her second child. At the time, this sparked a rigorous national debate whether women could balance career and family.

"At the height of her career, Meredith walked away from it all to put her family first. By refusing to compromise her beliefs and by constantly reinventing herself, Meredith is living proof that women can have it all," said writer Brent Sprecher.

The 32-page issue, penciled by Alex Lopez, is scheduled for a September release. The cover art is drawn by Vinnie Tartamella.

According to Davis, the Vieira biography is part of the four issue collection titled Female Force: Women In Media. This winter, the issue will be included as part of a graphic novel which include the previously published biographies of influential women: Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Walters and Ellen DeGeneres.

Female Force offers a broad examination of strong and influential women who are shaping modern history and culture. In past issues, the monthly series has featured Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Margaret Thatcher, JK Rowling, Sarah Palin and others.

The comic book series, launched earlier this year, has drawn considerable media attention, including features on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, "The View" and "Live with Regis and Kelly." It has also been featured in such periodicals as People Magazine, OK! Magazine Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, USA Today and thousands of blogs and other media outlets.

The suggested retail price (SRP) for the upcoming trade paperback is $3.99.

Female Force graphic novels are also available on Amazon.com, where they have been ranked among the site's top 300 books.
