Steve Jobs and Bill Gates

Steve Jobs' legacy is that of an innovator, risk taker, visionary, and to some a genius, and to others a ruthless corporate pirate. This week Bluewater Productions releases its biography comic book that examines all sides of the late Apple founder's complex personality.

"Steve Jobs: Founder of Apple," scheduled to hit newsstands, comic book stores and Amazon on Wednesday, offers readers a unique insight into the Jobs' legendary drive to the top and his continuing fight to stay there. The digital format release on the NOOK and Kindle is available today.

"Admire him or dislike him, Jobs' vision and business acumen revolutionized the world," said writer CW Cooke "Between he and Microsoft founder Bill Gates, you would be hard pressed to find someone with greater influence over how we communicate, interact and do business over the last 30 years."

Bluewater also announced the upcoming biography comic release of Jobs' fiercest rival: Bill Gates. "Bill Gates: Co-Founder of Microsoft" is scheduled to hit shelves in March.

Announced in June, the Jobs biography is a 32-page issue that covers his entire career. However, since it was written prior to his death from pancreatic cancer, it does not include his untimely passing. The issue was penciled by Chris Schmidt (with cover art supplied by DC artist Joe Phillips). It retails for $3.99.

According to Bluewater, the impetus to publish the Jobs biography was based on the demand and success of Bluewater's biography comic featuring Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook. And the Gates biography is an extension of the continuing interest in industry's most iconic innovators.

"There are definitely some similarities between Zuckerberg, Jobs and Gates. It takes a certain kind of drive and a certain kind of genius to move society the way they have," added Cooke. "The idea behind both efforts is to show the person behind the personality and that it is never what you'd expect."

The Gates biography was written by journalist Martin Pierro and illustrated by Zach Bassett. These biography comics sell out in a day, so please make sure you pre-order to insure you get a copy. You can now pre-order the BIll Gates comic book on Amazon:
